The tears of a clown
Evaporate on my cheek
Like lost ocean pearls

Idling under the tree of insanity
I linger a moment too long
Her tendrils slowly creep down
Envelope me and lull me to sleep
I dream of wild horses prancing
In the summer haze surrounded
By dandelions and dragonflies
Cavorting in open meadows
The lilac sky throbs, aching
To disperse its moisture
Waiting for a spark to ignite
And light up an electric night
A parliament of owls sit stoically
Above, observing the folly
Of my own impatient yearning’s
And rapacious desires
Melancholy inevitably creeps in
Like a billowing sea fog
Silence tumbleweeds a path
Toward the vertigo of isolation
Endless musings of otherness
Suffocate an inner stillness
Which would otherwise bring
Respite for the long journey ahead

You walked away
Leaving me with one hand clapping
Shouldering the pain
Like a staunch Mennonite
Washing bloodstains with freshly fallen snow

To mark the half way point of a project I’ve been working on I thought I would post my days writing today. On 1st January I started a 365 day project. Writing each day I am documenting events which happened to me in 1998. It was a life changing series of experiences for me and for the most part a very harrowing rite of passage.
#Day183/365
Forever searching
Always wanting to be sought
Fickle clouds pass by

Walking through the labyrinths of my mind
Like a crystal maze, going back in time
Stories create fractals of light
Piercing the retina of my soul
I spent too long trying to be
Someone else’s friend
But now I’m remembering the friend
I left back home who held the keys
To portals where we could be wild and free
She gave me a chance to explore
The universe with fresh eyes
With her the stars shimmer
A golden radiance that could tame
Even the wildest oceans
But through her eyes
I realise I’m one such sea
Crashing endlessly on the black
Sands of volcanic beaches
Crushing myself into a fine powder
Ready to be poured back
Into somebody else’s hourglass

While inside he was adorned with weeds.

This sensitive soul
Tends to over-analyze
Time to lick my wounds

If you jump I jump
Clouds only hold so much rain
Keep the fires burning
