A Wrinkle in Time

The wrinkles in my furrowed brow
Echo the unmade bed where we once lay
Squeezing into each others nooks and crannies
A brief history of time etched into the
Corners of my eyes
From which I remorsefully rub away
The grains of sand deposited
By the tears of my memories.

I joined the crew
I found my tribe
I wear a patch
Over my I

Too much to do
And so little time
Shape these words
To make them shine

I’m a one in ten
Been gone too long
Presence of mind
Will keep me strong

The wounds I claim
Have shaped my life
I’ve found my soul
She’s now my wife

The sun and moon
And now the stars
Have carried my burden
And all my scars

I’ve cried these tears
They’ve set me free
This broken heart
Now yours to see

The darkness is there
For the light to see
Spirals and galaxies
Have awakened me

The universe is there
Within you and I
Listen to your soul
It will never lie
